The Preps had a special visitor today.....

For those of you who have already heard from some very excited little children…. We had a very special visitor sneak into the Prep classrooms today to deliver an EXTRA special surprise to some VERY hard working Preps!!!

With only 157 days left of school for this year and the end of Term 1 almost here we are thrilled with the number of students who have attended school each day this term!

Regular attendance at school is important for your child’s learning and we encourage students to be at school on time every day - unless of course they are sick!

The following are students from each grade who have had perfect 100% attendance for Term 1 – not missing a single day!!!

Can you believe Term 1 is already over? Where has the time gone!!

Our amazing Preps have worked super hard this term learning so many sounds and high frequency words but we don’t want them to forget them all over the holidays!

The sounds we have looked at this term are:

When you have time, or if you are looking for a way to help your child in their learning revise these sounds and brainstorm words that begin with each sound!

 It will do wonders in their ability to decode unknown words in their readers and in their writing.

Our First Cross Country!

Preps at Cross Country!

On Thursday 17th of March the Prep students all participated in their first ever cross country race!

We have practiced running in fitness and were very ready to race our little legs as fast as they could go.

Congratulations to our super speedy 1st, 2nd and 3rd places winners!

Letters of the Week!

In class this week we have looked at the letters ‘m’ ‘p’ ‘r’ ‘s’ and ‘n’.

Talk about words that start with these letters with your child and get them to point them out when they come across them in their shared readers, library books or even around the house!

It can be tricky with recognising some letters as they appear different in print to how we write them at school!!

Have a chat with your child at home and talk about different words that start with these sounds!
